Conneg based on XML Dialect

I know at least one person who will think that this is a good idea. Anybody else? I'd looove to do this work...

It seems odd to modify HTTP because of dissatisfaction with or unsuitability of the media type registration process. There's nothing technically wrong with using Accept for this purpose; registering a single media type supporting parameters to serve this purpose seems like a much better idea than making content negotiation even more complicated.
