What is print.google.com?

It looks like Google is starting to index books and magazines; I came across this in a Google search I did today, but can’t find any reference to it on their public pages.

I don’t think this is the same content that Amazon makes available on a9 (although there may be some sharing); the content I found was from a magazine, not a book.

What’s the scoop? Sure looks like Google wants to have a finger in just about every kind of information, both on and off the Internet.
