Icebar

The Icebar, while not physically part of the legendary Ice Hotel (instead inserted into the lobby of a downtown Stockholm hotel), is affiliated with it, and better yet, it's affiliated with Absolut Vodka, so we couldn't resist. On Friday night, we donned the special Icebar capes with attached gloves, paid our SEK250 each and entered what can only be described as a meat locker with windows, ice walls, furnishings and some very amused occupants. Everything is ice; the chandeliers, the bar, the rail on the bar, the tables, the glasses. All of the drinks involve a fair amount of vodka so they don't freeze, and to keep you from doing the same. it's very touristy, but undeniably fun, especially after a few.
