Actually and really - ANYTHING that has been made by AUTHOR holds his
copyright. So even TITLE of article (for example at Wired or News.com) is
work enjoying COPYRIGHT PROTECTION. You are free to "cite" from authors work
within reasonable boundaries and give that you fully describe who was the
author.

Whole business of syndication rises and falls on one condition - that one
who you are "harvesting" does have nothing against this - by law you are on
edge of copyright protection with the fact of continuous harvesting and
using that derivate for other purposes.

Try to consult lawyers before :) and we all can see that our "harvesting"
can be stopped any moment - if those holding right express clearly their
will, that we may not do it, we have to obey the law.

It is hovewer clear that if someone makes its links and titles available, he
makes it on purpose of harvesting. But this is NOT true when they are made
available through means of publishing web pages (and then someone is using
this web page for harvesting).

It has nothing to do with claim of moreover, they are simply doing
harvesting the same way - and if they are doing it without prior agreement
with original publisher and then distributing it, they may run into
problems.

If they do not want anyone else to use their derivated product, and they are
clearly showing it somewhere (for purpose of law, they should do it in all
derivated exported data, some page somewhere in their web is good for
nothign), it's their right. Of course it means their work is either good for
nothing or they want everybody to see only their pages :)
