Just a note, the role of chair does not equate with elected
spokesperson. If you want an representative answer "from the group"
then you must get an answer that is authored "by the group". Without
that, you are still left with gathering information from existing
sources, like the rest of us.

Correction, there was a response[1]. What new or different answer are
you looking for?

You appear to have asked (but not in the above linked message), "was
there a public poll or vote to indicate consensus [on anything]", to
which the answer is obvious to anyone who chose to go look at the
archives as was linked[2] as my first response[3] to your queries.
That answer is: no.

Given that obvious answer, one then has to fall back to other means to
come to the conclusion that there was concensus, such as "taking the
pulse of the group", which anyone can do, again, by looking at the
archives[2], which I did[4][5].

If after reading the archives you've come to a different conclusion
about the pulse (general consensus) of the group than I did, let's
take a look at the messages that weigh in for that side of the
conclusion.
