Re: [syndication] Re: Subscribe ? - Newbie question
I heard my name. ;->
I can try to define what "subscribe" means in the context that I use it.
First, a change in perspective.
Instead of thinking of an aggregator as something that lives in the cloud,
think of it on your desktop.
Instead of three-five aggregators think of thousands.
Every hour at the top of the hour your personal aggregator reads the RSS
files that you've subscribed to. (There's the word.)
My list is here:
http://www.ourfavoritesongs.com/users/dave@userland.com/rss/misc/mySubscript
ions.opml
Your personal aggregator figures out which items are new and presents them
to you.
You can then "route" these according to categories you've created. (It's
easy to add or delete them.)
Each of these categories is also a RSS channel.
Other people can subscribe to them.
So one person's output becomes anothers' input.
Does this make sense?
Dave
