Which is why slashdot only grabs rss files once an hour
from sites. Somewhere in my todo list is to fix it
so that we only grab data per the period specified in
the rss file itself.

As more RSS built apps have come along we have seen a
pretty steady increase of hits on the rss feeds. I have
also noticed that few of the players obey any rules
on how often the feed should be retrieved.
