True, but 95 is a number, "NT" is a string, and there is no series
of increments to 95 that will turn it in to "NT".
Also 95 is a year, as is 2000.
Windows is the main brand and the suffixes serve to further
identify within the brand.
Also, the classic RSS branch is now bounded in progress with
a sub-1.0 version number. The fact that it is less than one leaves
it perpetually handicapped in contrast to something with the
same brand and a version number that is >= 1.

But there are many similar examples that don't. Ken has named a number
before, one that comes to mind is Windows 95 and Windows NT. People seem to
have dealt with that just fine.
