OK, just to follow up on this, the Dublin Core Qualifiers define these new
qualifiers for format:

    Extent
    The size or duration of the resource.

    Medium
    The material or physical carrier of the resource.

    Encoding Schemes for Format:

    IMT
    The Internet media type of the resource.
    http://www.isi.edu/in-notes/iana/assignments/media-types/media-types

I will recommend that the usage guide be updated to use these.
