Indeed, I think this idea would work wonderfully and was hoping that something like it would emerge out of whatever happened. Along with the idea of a user "subscribing" to RSS feeds ("my favorite news sites"), they'd also subscribe to people ("my favorite people who have similar interests"). Clients could auto-subscribe new feeds, becoming smart agents. Oh god, this sounds like "push" all over again <g>...

Sadly enough, I agree with you. I find myself answering the "am i hot or not" question far more than I find myself rating reviews. Anyone have an idea why that is? Perhaps more pictoral than anything - many writers know how hard it is to viscerally say and convey everything you want to everyone who reads, but an image bespokes opinion based on what you see - not much interpretation or misunderstanding can happen (again, assuming a picture like you'd see on amihotornot.com, not a painting or "artsy fartsy" piece).
