Good, then should we consider addressing these as individual items?
1. file extension
Something to aid less-than-intelligent systems like filesystem
managers and browsers in handling syndicated content. There are lots
of different formats (RSS, NewsML, PRISM, OCS). Is lumping them all
into one filesystem extension advisable? Or would this incur the
hassles seen when different programs fight over the handling? Is it
likely that different feed formats would require redirection into
different local programs?
2. MIME type
Many of the same issues for filesystem extension apply. An
additional issue is adding the types to the delivering server.
3. Namespace handling
I'm no expert here but I'm aware this is an issue.
Is it possible to address these individually while paying attention
to the needs of the others? As in, can we pick one at a time and
keep things moving forward?
