Syndic8.com is now accepting site submissions...

Hello Everyone,

Syndic8.com is now ready to accept submissions of 
pointers (URLs) to syndicated content. Hop on over 
to www.syndic8.com/suggest.php . Remember, you
want to submit the URL to some XML, not the URL
to the site itself.

You can submit up to 10 URLs at a time. Each URL 
is checked for against the feeds table, and entered 
if unique. You can submit URLs without being logged 
in, but you will gain points if you log in first 
or enter your User ID on the suggestion page. After
you press the Submit button a status report will
be shown.

The entered URLs do not show up in the feeds list
right away - they need to be polled, then reviewed.
I will soon be implementing the polling mechanism 
which will do some checking on the feeds, and then 
make them available for review.

I do want to reiterate that the entered URLs are
going to be "captive" for up to a week until I get
the next parts of the system going. There's a lot
of infrastructure underneath the suggestion system,
and I'd like to see it get some exercise now.

The site also has a "role" system in effect. There
will soon be a page which will let you choose to
be a Reviewer, Evangelizer, or Scraper (or all of
them). There's also a special role called Announcer
which allows broadcasting of email to all or some
of the registered users. I'm the only one with this
role right now.

By the way, per the stats page (www.syndic8.com/stats.php)
we now have 65 registered users. I strongly feel
that we are going to do some great work with this
site!

I am in need of a some good graphics for the site. If
anyone has some artistic talent and would like to draw
a good logo, please step forward. Similarly, I could
use some help with the colors (contrary to appearances,
I am not color blind, just very bad at choosing colors :-).
