You've doubtless forgotten the past RSS debates.  Getting a format 
started is as important as the architecture.  Granted, getting one 
out there that people refuse to adapt is something to avoid.  

I would like to see it use RDF for flexibility.  Everything can deal 
with RDF these days so it's not like this is an impossible request.  
Using something overly simple like RSS-0.9x would be, IMNSHO, a 
mistake.  0.9x formats have served us well and continue to be a 
viable format for some applications.
