It would be even cooler if you could send an Accept: text/xml (or whatever) to get an XML rendition of that resource. Even a query term of http://www.weblogs.com/changesRss.xml?accept=text/xml would be neat. This would require web server support I suppose.
How does Apache support Accept headers and multiple renditions of the same resource?
