making a syndicated page with javascript
Dear friends
I've just joined this group and would value your wise help!
I'd like to offer a syndicated resource page for others to use, by
javascript, which seemed the most universal single solution.
I've been following the instructions at
http://www.purplepages.ie/site/articles/article.asp?faq=6&fldAuto=67
and test results seem OK so far.
My questions are:
I see that I need to do the following to my javascript file:
? Precede every apostrophe ' with a backslash: \'
? Except for the first and last lines, end each line with: ');
? Except for the first and last lines, begin each line with:
document.writeln('
Is there any tool which will convert my file and add these at beginning and
end of lines. Obviously it is easy enough to do a replace for apostrophes,
but tedious to do the rest by hand. I found one parsing tool, but though it
parsed in other ways, it did not do this.
Are there any other potential problems I, or end users, are likely to face?
Or other tips?
Many thanks
Best wishes
Tony
