Re: Dave Winer's RSS 2.0

I think it's insulting, arrogant, and laughable. I cannot beleive he
thinks he has the commnity support and technical expertise to pull
it off.
First off, everything that is proposed in this supposed 2.0 spec is
supported by 1.0, and modules of 1.0. Additionally, 1.0 carries all
the benefits of RDF.
Second off, it's a step backward, so I fail to see how it is
deserving of a version number greater than 1.0; especially 2.0. If
he wants to produce .94 or .98746 or whatever, he can feel free. But
to suggest, by way of versioning, that his vision (which was not
even his vision to begin with) of RSS 2.0 is superior to that of 1.0
is incorrect, inconsiderate, and confusing for those who will jump
into the RSS community later. In fact, it is his lack of concern for
the community at large which is so disturbing.
Third off, there is so much good discussion going on within the RSS
community about what the next evolution ought to be. The RDF folks
are making a great effort to educate everyone about why RDF makes so
much sense for RSS.
