On any experts' page in about.com, you can search for RSS and get an
RDF Site Summary. Apparently, about.com is based largely on moveable
type. I think this is the first big (highly visible to people of
diverse interests, outside sites dedicated to aggregation and
syndication) site with broad interest to go RSS.

Got URLs for a few of them? I looked around and didn't come across
any.

I picked one at random, http://baking.about.com/mbody.htm
At the top of every page is a search. Ensure the dropdown remains at
its default "Search in this topic". Search for RSS. Select
"deserts/baking" or whatever the topic you choose is. Scroll down to
the orange xml logo for "RDF Location"
http://z.about.com/6/g/baking/b/index.rdf
for delphi, its
http://z.about.com/6/g/delphi/b/index.rdf
for http://womensissues.about.com/mbody.htm
its
http://z.about.com/6/g/womensissues/b/index.rdf
the pattern is apparent, for something.about.com, the corresponding
RSS file is
http://z.about.com/6/g/something/b/index.rdf
They haven't done a good job at putting link tags into the html, so
they
are not really going to benefit from the traffic that would result if
people stuck thesse feeds in aggregators, daypop, etc. I suspect
they
will eventually get to it.
