The market consuming this data is nowhere near mature enough to start making
legacy excuses.

Build a format good for this and there's absolutely no expectation the readers
won't accomodate it.  And, if the format's well crafted I'll volunteer to have
Syndic8 host a new-thing-to-opml translator proxy.  So should anyone be stuck
using a tool or not be willing to update they'll be able to get what they need.
I'm sure other subscription oriented services like Morten's could also step in
to help here.
