Intro (Novobot)

Greetings from Lithuania!

My name is Gleb Dolgich. I'm rather new to this list. I've discovered it
when the first version of my shareware headline grabber Novobot was already
complete. I'm still reading the list archives, they are very useful to me. I
thought you may be interested to look at Novobot, it can display headlines
not only from XML syndicated channels, but also from HTML pages with
headline-style news, to get headlines from sites that do not provide a
back-end. I was aiming at the ease of use, therefore I decided to put all
headlines in one window and get them automatically from sites that user has
included in the queue. The channel list is small but growing, and Novobot
allows semi-automatic channel installation and updates from the Web. I
maintain a directory of channels at my site, though after reading the
archives I now fear that their categorization is non-standard. There is a
channel file editor, too.
