All you say makes the list presented at:

clear but does NOT make any kind of consensus obvious.


Now, on forking you end up saying:

Since:
 - There is no clear RDF standard owner;
 - There is no clear way of finding out who is the majority (not all RSS
   users are list members and not all are active posters);
 - The "most different" standard is less hurt by taking a new name...

...I still think that the forking idea I posted makes much more sense.
