AmphetaDesk v0.92 Available!



AmphetaDesk v0.92 is now available!

AmphetaDesk is a news aggregator - it sits on your desktop, downloads the
latest news that interests you, and displays them in a quick and easy to
use webpage. With thousands of channels for selection, AmphetaDesk can
shave hours off your day when it comes to news reading. And you'll look
smart to all your friends!

What follows below are specific notes about this release.

NOTICABLE CHANGES IN THIS RELEASE:
Changes that are easily noticed by the user.
If you want the whole story, check the documentation in /docs/CHANGELOG.

 - bottom navigation bars added for easier movability.
 - template changes to satisfy Opera and IE 6 display.
 - "Tools" menu added to Windows GUI.
 - all links listen to user's target= preference.
 - better xml parser correctly handles multiple encodings.
 - letter next / prev options added to "add a channel" page.
 - lots of error cleanups - we no longer die as many times,
   and errors are generally more helpful and instructional.
 - blank entries or memory hashes are no longer shown in channels.
 - "strict_xml" entry added for correct, anal parsing of
   all xml feeds. turn it on with a "1" in your mySettings.xml file.
 - the internal webserver will try on one of three different
   ports before dying with an error message.
 - corrected all known parsing errors hilighted by the
   numerous log files that were sent in to us (thanks!)
 - fixed a number of minor bugs, as well as cleaned up
   our log file to be smaller but more concise. lots
   of smaller features were added as well.


REPORTING BUGS:
What to do if something weird happens.

 a. Send morbus@disobey.com your /data/internal/AmphetaDesk.log file.
 b. Send morbus@disobey.com your /data/myChannels.opml file.
 c. Report the error message shown in the window (if any).
 d. If it's an error to do with displaying a channel, send the
    matching channel file from /data/channels/.

We will then give you a bug ID and you can track it at SourceForge.
