Are you thinking of extensions beyond start and end datetimes?

I would be interested to hear what people think is the minimum feature
set for defining an event feed.

Obviously events can be very complex (and interesting) to describe,
but to try to codify all of it.... that way lies madness (or at least
iCal, which is the next best thing)

For a while we were implementing RSS event feeds on protest.net, and
RSS 1.0 plus the events module was really all we needed to produce
relatively intelligible feeds.  Not enough for full event syndication,
but enough to produce teasers.

However, no one ever used them so we stopped :(
