Good, if we can find a way to have OCS and mod_sub learn from each other it'll
help a lot. Personally, I think OCS is the better way to go but I'm open to
debate.
This is the sort of reason that supporting multiple namespaces, modules and
formats is worthwhile. The developers of each of these pieces need to see
support in order to justify the time spent. There comes a time that a format or
module won't live up to it's potential. The key is keeping the motivation and
knowledge from that effort alive and move it into other efforts. It's a sad
thing to see something reach obsolescence, that's for sure. But it's /tragedy/
to see infighting killing it instead. Let's find a way to move these things
together; we'll all be better for it.
And along those lines, let's all take a hard look at what modules are doing
what. Let's find a way to chart out a matrix of overlaps between the different
efforts. There's /no shame/ in discovering that another module or namespace
might do a better job of it. Especially if that namespace has utility in other
semantic web applications. We'd get their knowledge and they'd get our massive
amount of frequently changing data. This is a *BIG* win for both sides.
We're way ahead of the end-users, let's retrench and find a way to bring /them/
up to speed.
